One of tropical Australia’s most popular sportfish, the queenfish, is having its well deserved time in the spot light. The queenie, as it affectionately known, is a magnificent inshore predator. The sleek body shape, big eyes and big mouth are just perfectly designed for eating baitfish both big and small. Locally around Exmouth, one of the most popular on the dietary requirements list would be the hardy head. The hardy head congregates around any type of rocky outcrops and they also inhabit sheltered bays around the shoreline. The hardy head schools in massive numbers, as do many baitfish, in hope of congregation en mass as a form of camouflage. The simple rule of thumb around here is that if you find the hardies - you find the queenies.
